Positive Case of COVID-19 Dec. 4
KFL&A Public Health has been notified that a student at Winston Churchill Public School tested positive for COVID-19 on Dec. 4, 2021. One cohort has been identified as close contacts of the positive case and have been given specific guidance from Public Health.
KFL&A Public Health works closely with schools to ensure that necessary steps are taken to prevent further spread of the virus both in the school and the community.
Families are encouraged to continue to monitor and screen students daily for symptoms of COVID-19 as most cases of COVID-19 are acquired in the home setting. Vigilant screening is recommended. Do not send students to school if they are sick or symptomatic. If students have symptoms of COVID-19, book a PCR test at an assessment centre or participating pharmacy.
Please continue to follow all public health guidelines which include maintaining physical distance, wearing face coverings, and cleaning your hands frequently.
