Consultation re Proposed Boundary Changes

As you know, the Limestone District School Board has proposed boundary changes in Central Kingston that would impact the Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 English program students at Rideau Public School, the Grade 9 to 12 students who formerly attended Loyalist Collegiate & Vocational Institute (LCVI), Kingston Collegiate & Vocational Institute (KCVI) and Queen Elizabeth Collegiate & Vocational Institute (QECVI) and the Grade 7 and 8 students at Winston Churchill Public School.

The Board has scheduled consultation meetings to consult with parents and guardians of the affecting students attending Central, Sydenham, Winston Churchill and Rideau public schools. These meetings will give all school parents and guardians the opportunity to participate and provide feedback on the proposed boundary changes. An opportunity for online feedback is also available for those parents and guardians unable to attend the meeting.
.
The meeting related to Winston Churchill Public School will take place on January 23, 2018 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Winston Churchill P.S. (alternate date January 24, 2018).

Those unable to attend these meetings may provide feedback online at http://www.limestone.on.ca/PARC/Boundary_Changes

Committee seeking feedback on short list of names
for Kingston’s new secondary school  New school naming graphic

Families, staff and the general public are being asked to provide their feedback on a short list of names being considered for Kingston’s new secondary school. The shortlist was created following an initial survey last fall which resulted in more than 600 submissions. You are invited to share your preferred options via an online survey that is linked off our school website. The deadline for the public survey is February 9. Students are being asked for input directly at school. The results will be reviewed by the New School Integration Committee which will select a further short list to be submitted to the Board of Trustees for consideration. Click here to access the survey.
