This helps clear a crowded parking lot and street during peek times. Please remember that our streets are a no parking zone. If you must drive your child, please do not drop off children in the parking lot and have them walk through it as it is a congested area with traffic. We've had the start up of art club and Eco Club and there is an energetic hum to our busy days at Winston. </span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Our group of fifty-five dedicated cross country runners made us all proud as they did their very best at the Fort Henry cross country race on Oct. 16th! They showed grit, perseverance and determination and all need to be commended! Eleven of our runners earned top spots to continue to the District level meet on October 22nd at Fort Henry. WISE (Women in Science Education) will start next week for Grades 4,5,6 students, and the Queen's Athletic Zone supported our Meet the Educator event! It was great having players from the women's hockey team and lacrosse team here to interact and play with kids! Kaleidoscope buddies begin soon with eight Queen's mentors coming on a weekly basis to Winston. </span></p><p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Students and staff did a great job with two practice fire drills last week. Everyone reacted quickly and calmly and were out of the building in under 3 minutes. We will be running intramurals so everyone will get a chance to play! There will be enough players to run 4 intramural teams at lunch recess throughout the months of October and November and possibly into December. There will be a junior volleyball tournament sometime in November (date TBD). We will select a tournament team after observing our co-ed intramurals and 1 after school practice each. After October 20th, students will know whether they will be on the tournament team. Limestone District School Board Chair and Vice-Chair Elected for 2025-2026

Depending on the availability of places in the programs, students currently in Grade 7 may also apply to join a program for their Grade 8 year. Student Census Survey Opt-Out Deadline Extended
